About Grand National Odds

We built this site because we got tired of hopping between bookmakers every April just to find a decent price on the Grand National. That was the starting point. We wanted one place where you could pull up the latest odds from all the big UK bookmakers, see them side by side, and actually make a proper decision before putting your money down.

Grand National Odds covers the entire Aintree Festival, not just the big race on Saturday. From the Foxhunters Chase on Thursday through to the final race on Grand National Day, we track the odds, highlight the movers, and round up the best sign-up offers from licensed betting sites.

  The Grand National

There is nothing quite like the Grand National. It has been running at Aintree since 1839 and it remains the biggest betting race of the year in the UK. Up to 34 runners, thirty fences, more than four miles. Becher's Brook, The Chair, the Canal Turn. The course sorts out the pretenders from the genuine stayers, and that is what makes it so hard to pick a winner.

The race sits at the heart of a three-day festival. Thursday kicks things off with races like the Foxhunters Chase over the National fences. Friday brings the Topham Chase and the Melling Chase, and then Saturday builds towards the main event. There is quality racing right the way through the card.

  How Our Odds Work

The odds on this site come from the bookmakers and are updated regularly. When a horse gets backed, you will see the price shorten. When money dries up, the price drifts. We pull in prices from Bet365, Unibet, 888sport and Spreadex so you can compare them all without opening five different tabs.

We also flag up the best price for each runner. If one bookmaker is offering 20/1 and another has 16/1 on the same horse, you want to know about it. That is the kind of edge that adds up over time, especially with a race like the Grand National where the each-way places can make or break your bet.

  What We Cover

Beyond the odds tables, we put together race previews for the key races at the Aintree Festival. These look at the form of the leading contenders, assess the each-way value further down the market, and pick out any horses that might be worth a closer look at bigger prices.

We keep an eye on the ante-post market in the months before the festival too. Horses come and go, the weights get published, and the market shifts. If something interesting is happening with a horse's price, we will flag it up.
